McKibben Powersports of Sebring is an authorized Can-Am® dealer at 7820 Tractor Rd, Sebring, FL 33876. We sell new Can-Am side by sides, ATVs and three wheel road machines, take trades on any brand, stock genuine parts and accessories, and service Can-Am units in our own shop.
Here is something most Can-Am dealers cannot offer, and it is the reason to start your shopping here. We carry Can-Am, Polaris and Honda under the same roof. You can put a Defender and a Polaris RANGER and a Honda Pioneer next to each other, sit in all three in the same afternoon, and decide based on how they actually feel rather than on three separate showroom visits and a spreadsheet.
That matters in Highlands County, where a side by side is usually a working tool before it is a toy. Cattle operations, citrus and caladium ground, hunting leases and the sandy tracks around Lake Istokpoga all put different demands on a machine. What follows is a straight walkthrough of the Can-Am lineup, who each family suits, and what we do after you buy.
New & Used Can-Am® for Sale in Sebring
Floor stock changes constantly. Use this as a guide to the families Can-Am builds, then check live inventory for what is physically at the Sebring store today.
Defender: the work side by side
Defender is built around torque and towing rather than top speed. The HD7 suits smaller properties, HD9 covers most general ranch work, and HD10 is the choice when you are pulling a loaded trailer through soft ground in August. Defender MAX adds a second row of seats, and Defender PRO stretches the bed for people who haul long material like fence posts and irrigation pipe.
Higher trims offer an enclosed cab with air conditioning. In Highlands County that is not a vanity option, it is the difference between a machine that gets used through summer and one that sits in the barn until October.
Maverick and Commander
Maverick is the sport family. Maverick Trail is the narrow one for tight wooded tracks, Maverick Sport sits in the middle, and Maverick X3 is the wide, long travel machine for open ground and sand. Maverick R sits at the top of the range for riders who want the most capable thing Can-Am makes.
Commander is the sensible middle ground, with a cargo bed and towing capacity alongside sportier manners. If you want one machine that hunts on Saturday and works on Monday, look here before you look at anything else.
Outlander and Renegade ATVs
Outlander is the utility ATV line, running from the 500 and 700 up through the 850 and 1000R. Outlander MAX carries a passenger, and Outlander PRO is the work focused version with a heavier duty rack setup for ranch and grove use.
Renegade is the sport ATV, lighter feeling and quicker steering for riders who want to move. On the youth side, models such as the DS 70 and DS 90 have speed limiting and a safety tether so a parent keeps control of how fast a first machine goes.
Ryker and Spyder three wheelers
Ryker is the accessible way into three wheels. It is automatic, low to the ground and light on its feet, and the Rally and Sport versions add different suspension and styling. Riders who have never been comfortable balancing a two wheel bike tend to get on with a Ryker immediately.
Spyder is the touring end, with the F3 leaning cruiser and the RT built for distance with weather protection and luggage. Ask us about availability, and see the note below on cross-shopping these against the Polaris Slingshot we also carry.
Compare Can-Am® Against Polaris and Honda Here
Most buyers arrive having watched a lot of video and read a lot of forum arguments. Video does not tell you how tall the step-in is, whether you can see over the hood, or how the seat feels after two hours. Sitting in the machines back to back does.
The comparisons customers ask us for most often are Defender against the Polaris RANGER and the Honda Pioneer on the work side, and Maverick against the RZR on the sport side. We will set them next to each other and give you an honest read on where each one is stronger, because we sell all three and have no reason to steer you.
The same applies on three wheels. We carry both the Can-Am Ryker and Spyder and the Polaris Slingshot, which are very different machines that show up on the same shopping list. One is a straddle seat you ride, the other is a side by side cockpit you sit in. Ten minutes in both settles it faster than any amount of reading.
Can-Am® Service and Parts in Sebring
Our shop handles Can-Am maintenance and repair on site. Oil and filter service on the Rotax engines, CVT belt and clutch work, front and rear differential fluid, brakes, bearings, suspension, tires, electrical diagnosis and warranty repairs.
Two pieces of advice we give every new Can-Am owner in this county. First, respect the break-in period and get the first service done on time, because that is where long term reliability is decided. Second, keep the radiator and CVT intake clear. Highlands County dust in the dry season and mud in the wet season both pack into places that restrict airflow, and heat is what kills belts here far more often than hard riding does.
We fit accessories too, and most machines leave here with something added. Roofs and windshields are close to standard equipment in Florida, and winches, bumpers, mirrors, lighting and audio are all common. Ask during the deal and we will have it installed before you collect.
Financing, Trades and Current Offers
You can start a credit application online before you drive out to Tractor Road, which takes the slow part of the process off your afternoon. We work with a range of lenders and we have added to that network recently, so it is worth applying even if you have been turned down elsewhere. Rate, term and approval all depend on credit and none of them are guaranteed in advance.
Can-Am and BRP run their own promotional financing and rebate programs through the year, and they change on their own schedule with real end dates attached. Rather than publish an offer here that expires next month, call and ask what is currently live on the model you want. It is a short conversation and the answer will be accurate.
We take trades on any brand, not just Can-Am. Bring the title and whatever service records you have. If you want a number before you drive over, use the online trade valuation tool on this site to get a starting figure, then we will confirm it once we have eyes on the machine.

Decide between Defender and Maverick honestly
This is the fork in the road and people get it wrong in both directions. If the machine has to earn its keep hauling, towing and carrying tools, buy a Defender and accept that it is not a fast trail machine. If it exists for riding and the occasional load is incidental, buy a Maverick and do not pretend the small cargo area is a work bed. If you genuinely do both, Commander exists for exactly that reason.
Cab and air conditioning are worth the money here
A roof is the minimum. If you work outside through a Florida summer or ride during the wet season, a full cab with air conditioning changes how many days a year the machine actually gets used. Owners who skip it to save on the deal are the same owners who ask us to retrofit it eighteen months later, which costs more.
Measure before you buy width
Wide machines are more stable and more capable and they also do not fit everywhere. Check your gates, your trailer, and the tracks you actually ride. A Maverick X3 is a spectacular machine and a poor choice for 50 inch marked trails. Bring the measurements with you and we will match a model to them.
Three wheels: Ryker or Spyder
Ryker is lighter, simpler and less expensive, and it suits shorter rides and riders who want something easy to manage. Spyder is heavier, more comfortable and built for covering distance with a passenger and luggage. If your riding is Sunday mornings around Lake Placid and Lorida, Ryker is plenty. If you are planning trips, look at the RT. Florida licensing requirements for three wheel vehicles differ from two wheel motorcycles, so confirm your endorsement before you buy.
Looking at a used Can-Am®
Read the hour meter rather than the odometer, because hours tell you how hard a machine has worked. Ask when the belt was last changed and whether the clutch has been opened. Check the A-arms and skid plate for impact damage, look for play in the ball joints and wheel bearings, and find out whether the previous owner rode in salt or deep mud. Trades we take in are inspected before they reach the floor and we will tell you what we found.
Serving Can-Am® Riders Across Highlands County
Our Sebring store on Tractor Road serves Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid, Lorida, Venus and the surrounding Highlands County ranch and grove country. We also see regular customers from Wauchula, Zolfo Springs, Arcadia, Frostproof and Okeechobee, and from further north around Lake Wales and Winter Haven.
McKibben runs powersports stores in Sebring, Lake Wales and LaBelle, plus a boating center here in Sebring. If the model, trim or colour you want is sitting at one of the other stores, we move it rather than telling you it is unavailable.

Can-Am® Questions We Get Asked
Is McKibben Powersports an authorized Can-Am dealer in Sebring?
Yes. McKibben Powersports of Sebring is an authorized Can-Am dealer at 7820 Tractor Rd, Sebring, FL 33876. We sell new Can-Am units, register factory warranties, stock genuine parts and accessories, and carry out Can-Am service and warranty work in our own shop.
What is the difference between a Can-Am Defender and a Maverick?
Defender is the utility line, built around towing, payload and a cargo bed for ranch and property work. Maverick is the sport line, built around suspension travel and power for trail and open terrain riding. Commander sits between the two with a bed and sportier handling if you need one machine to do both.
Can I compare a Can-Am against a Polaris or Honda at your store?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our Sebring store carries Can-Am, Polaris and Honda, so you can sit in a Defender, a RANGER and a Pioneer in the same visit instead of driving to three dealers. We sell all three, so the comparison you get from us is not a sales pitch for one brand.
Do I need a motorcycle licence to ride a Can-Am Ryker or Spyder in Florida?
Licensing rules for three wheel vehicles are set by the state and differ from standard two wheel motorcycle requirements, and they can change. Talk to us about your situation and confirm the current requirement with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles before you buy so there are no surprises.
Do you service Can-Am machines bought from another dealer?
Yes. Our technicians work on Can-Am side by sides, ATVs and three wheel models regardless of where they were purchased, covering routine service, belt and clutch work, tires, suspension and diagnosis. Bring any service records you have, and warranty documentation if the machine is still within its coverage period.
